Greetings Gentle Readers!
A tragedy has occurred with the steam train that has toured from Canada to Mexico City. While the train that I photoed and videoed was on it's way to Mexico City, a young Mexican woman attempting to take a selfie strayed to close to the tracks and the passing locomotive valve gear struck her head killing her. It has marred an otherwise perfect trip and has cast a pall over the entire trip. Subsequently, they placed the stem engine behind the accompanying diesels and have moved the consist under cover of darkness so that railfans would not be in attendance. The remaining trip northward is now in jeopardy. A sad situation for the young woman, her family, and the railroad. Moral to the story, stay clear of the tracks when rail-fanning.
