Greetings gentle readers! I am most troubled by what is happening in the United States regarding the ongoing war with the terrorist organization, Hamas, and the state of Israel. Several college campuses and misguided citizen protests against Israel and in support of Hamas have taken place across the country.

Let us examine the facts. The terrorists wantonly attacked a music festival and many innocent civilians. Not, let me repeat, not military or political targets. In a sneak attack they breached the border and killed for no other purpose than hatred and the antisemitic feelings toward the Israelis. The misguided have supported Hamas saying that Israel has taken their homeland. Ridiculous! There has never been a Palestinian state and Hamas is supported by Iran. It is not only hatred against Israel, but the United States as well.

The misguided also are calling a cease fire as Israel retaliates for the slaughter perpetrated by Hamas, for humanitarian reasons. Let me ask, did any of the Palestinians warn Israel of the pending attacks? Did any of the Palestinians incarcerate the guilty parties after the attack? Yes innocent men, women, and children will die because of the war, that is unfortunate. Israel has the right and the obligation to protect it's citizens and strikes against terrorist not only protects Israel, but the U.S. As well.

If these protesters here were to tour the sites of the attack by Hamas, and interview the eye witnesses to the horror on unarmed families and see the mutilated bodies, I believe the liberal students might have a change of heart and support Israel and denounce Hamas.

Greetings gentle readers. I have determined that aging is not for the faint heart-ed. I was having a conversation with my sister recently and was reminiscing about some of the things we used to play as children. We did not have much of a childhood, if you have read my book, ...the unclean spirit entered... but we did enjoy some childrens games. Running around with a towel tied around our necks ala Batman and Robin, riding motorcycles, our bicycles, and my sister being Chuck Connors in Branded (it's a long story). It seems that it was just yesterday. Instead my sister is a great-grandmother and I am an ugly old man. I was always the youngest man in my position until one day prior to my retirement, I realized that I was the oldest employee on my team. WTF! Now each day I wake up and try to guess what will hurt today and when I try to do any physical activity it is like doing it in slow motion. Moral to the story, enjoy life as it happens as it will be over in an instant.

Greetings gentle readers!

Today I want to discuss something that many of us only imagined in science fiction. As many devices and processes from the past have been realized in our present age, Artificial Intelligence has been on the scene for a while, and more and more businesses and computers are making use of the programs. I think it is important, as a writer, to consider banning the use of AI or at least the need to advise readers when AI authors literature.

In school it was known that having a parent or sibling write a theme would be cheating. The results would be a F on the theme. In my opinion, it is the same with literature. AI may write a piece of literature, but without a literary soul. A writer, for better or worse, puts their mind and heart into their writing and nurtures the piece like a love interest. Writing, cajoling, cursing, and love for the finished product. It becomes part of the writer and, dare I say, part of the reader.

AI in it's cold and calculated linear pseudo thought reduces literature to computer product. Not the very human process of the written word. I think this is a travesty and a tragedy to the world of literature.
